LOOK AT YOUR CREDIT REPORT
Take a close look at your credit report. You should be able to spot why the lender has turned your application down. Common reasons for a lender declining you are:
- Not being confirmed on the electoral roll.
- Poor credit history - for example, CCJs, defaults, late payments recorded.
- Too much credit activity, for example, lots of applications for credit being made.
- You might have borrowed too much money already, for example outstanding loans and credit cards.
- You have available credit that is not currently being used, for example high limits on credit cards.
- Being financially linked to someone who has a poor credit history.
